
Bio
Linda Weste's debut historical verse novel Nothing Sacred (Arcadia, 2015) won the Wesley Michel Wright Prize and received Highly Commended for the Anne Elder Award for Poetry.
As Editor she has published three non-fiction books: Inside the Verse Novel: Writers on Writing (2020), The Verse Novel: Australia & New Zealand (2022) and DiVERSE: Conversations with YA and Children’s Verse Novelists (Bloomsbury, 2025); each book is a compilation of interviews with writers about verse novel poetics.
Over a five year period she held the positions of Editor of Book Reviews and Acting Editor of Articles for TEXT Journal of Writing and Writing Programs. Other professional writing industry roles include Panel Presenter, Guest Speaker, Panel Chair and Book Reviewer.
She has a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Melbourne and has taught poetry & poetics to creative writing students.
